ClusterPost 6: Wakawakawakawaka

Third annual sleepover at Cindy's cabin- our numbers keep increasing by exactly one each fall. Good thing there's plenty of room there.
I thought I'd post a friendly reminder to avoid the two-day hangover that last year's sleepover wrought upon us:

It must have worked. We were remarkably well-behaved in comparison.

Wakaw Lake was beautiful- a bit chilly out, but what more can you ask of Saskatchewan at the end of October?

Awaiting Louise's arrival from Prince Albert.

And here she is!

Cindy looks like she's about to start stirring the pot, but that didn't happen until later- after the New York trip slide show had taken place.

Lori and me listening intently. Is the Jersey Boys soundtrack playing yet?

Have to have a bit of wine, right?

Leila relaxing after appetizers. Hope you're up for the steaks I brought.

Prepping the foot spas. Too bad both cameras had batteries that died and no charger to be found. I would have loved a shot of Cindy's turbo spa puking bubbles all over the carpet.

ClusterPost 5: Turkey Day (again)

Oct.8th- supper at Mom and Dad's. The big draw was the leaf pile Elise and I created in their backyard. I slacked off and took photos while Real carved the bird. Will wore his Oilers gear in anticipation of a 4-2 loss to the Red Wings (damn that Zetterberg, anyways, and my husband who snagged him in the pool before I did!)

ClusterPost 4: Another birthday - Ava's party

Family get-together Thanksgiving weekend at Georgie's. Turkey part 1 for supper, followed by cake(s) and the two year old tearing into her gifts. Photo credits: Will and Elise. (that's why I'm only posting two of them...)

ClusterPost 3: Nolan's birthday party

The last weekend of September found us in Edmonton again- early-ish party for Nolan. Jeff, Anica, Leo, Mom and Dad beat us there by a few hours.

Chip off the old block! Leo's a boozehound just like his daddy. Watching the Riders, of course.

The kids helping Oma/Opa eat their token birthday cake.

"I'm three!"

Where the hell did my beer go?

"I must have drank it."

I think Nolan adored his Thomas the Train cake.

And his Thomas the Train toys.

Nudity warning!
The water was rather icy by the time I convinced them to get out.

ClusterPost 2: The boy is nine!

Although Will's enjoyment of the weekend was dampened somewhat by Suka's death, we managed to have nice little party for him at Lakewood on Sept. 16th. Nice for Real and me, finally having kids old enough to swim by themselves. We staked out a claim on the deck, got the cake, drinks and gifts ready, and just let the kids "have at'er".

Why does my son rarely look up when I'm photographing him?

Elise almost always does. She certainly knows when the camera is on her.

DQ ice cream pizza! Nothing left over to take home. How good is that?

After we left the pool, we went home and hosted a family supper with Marcel, Georgina, Nicolle, Jeremy and Ava. Mom and Dad blasted through around 7:30 so Mom could get her birthday cake with Will. They had just blown back into town from their 70/75 birthday trip to Hawaii.

ClusterPost 1: Catching up- the summer of the frogs

Will, on a dock, pensively

Late August saw us at Candle Lake with Len, Mike and Nolan, as well as Mom and Dad (but no Real). The weather was horrid, save for two sunshiney hours spent at Waskateena Beach, close to the resort town. At least the water was warm for the kids.

The good part about the cool, rainy weather (Will and Elise's pov)- the wee froggies were plentiful. Our first foray out to hunt for them took only a 20 ft. walk from our cabin and a quick glance downward to see a large number of them. Captured three, two made it home. One of those escaped the aquarium, the last died. Which left us with the first wood frog, who was tracked down by Suka in Borden mid-July, known to us now as "Burp".
